Ernst is registered with the Dutch bar as qualified attorney since 2001 and ever since active in the international trade and harbor (shipping) sector. He serves all modalities, with specific interest in maritime law. Ernst started his career with DLA Piper. He has also worked as in-house legal counsel with Smit Salvage (Boskalis). As from 2009, Ernst has his own clients and practice, since 2021 within the partnership of Bunders Lok Advocaten.
Ernst taught shipping law at the University of Amsterdam and he is active as arbitrator in logistic disputes. In the Dutch register of attorneys, Ernst is noted as specialist Trade and Transport. This obliges him to maintain specific legal education in this area, on a yearly basis. Ernst is member of the Dutch Association for Transport Law, member of the Dutch Arbitration Association and (board)member of the Dutch Association for Transport lawyers.
(1962) studied Netherlands law (1985) at the University of Amsterdam and has been active as an attorney-at-law since 1986. After having been on the staff of the law firms of Van der Kroft c.s., Amsterdam, and CMS Derks Star Busmann, Utrecht and Amsterdam he established an independent law practice in 1997.
Marcel Bunders specialises in media and entertainment law, advising and representing music companies, concert promotes, broadcasting organisations and artists.
He has published a variety of articles on the subject of entertainment law. He is also a member of the board of International Association of Entertainment Lawyers (IAEL), the international organisation in this field.
